The transport operators make it possible

For companies within public and passenger transport, the times are are both demanding and exciting.

The financial situation in the counties means that public transport services are being reduced in many places. At the same time, the need for more tailored transport is increasing, and people now expect more flexible mobility solutions – also beyond the traditional public transport network.

The good news is that these new needs and expectations are creating room for entirely new business opportunities for transport operators.

New technology and digital solutions make it possible to organise and coordinate shared transport across different needs. This enables operators to expand their service offering, take on new roles, and at the same time contribute to social sustainability within their local communities.

The Nimmo platform simplifies planning, booking, and execution of shared transport, and when this is combined with people who dare to think differently and challenge existing models, real value is created.

One place where this has worked particularly well is at KGB Dance & Ballet in Bærum. The dance school has chosen to use the Nimmo platform to offer transport to and from its “after school” program, in collaboration with the transport provider TK Bussreiser.

From day one, TK Bussreiser has been the key to the success of the transport service. They have been willing to adopt a new system, test new ways of working, and they have provided us with valuable feedback. Always with the goal of improving the solution for the operator, the activity provider, and the passengers. TK Bussreiser has delivered an outstanding service to KGB Dance & Ballet, the parents, and the children. One parent recently shared this feedback: “Wilma says the bus drivers are very nice :)”

Last week, we summarised how the collaboration with KGB Dance & Ballet has worked so far, and how they experienced using the Nimmo platform. Petter Holstad, traffic manager at TK Bussreiser, stated:

“Nimmo gives the drivers clear and immediate access to the information they need about each trip, the children and the passengers. We no longer need to keep track of printed lists that must be updated and distributed, which reduces administration and simplifies handling of personal data.”

This highlights how technology can create structure and predictability, while giving drivers more time to focus on what matters most: taking care of their passengers.

We believe the time is right to explore new opportunities within transport, and we want to do this together with the industry. For operators who are forward-thinking and open to new possibilities, the Nimmo platform can be a gateway to an expanded service offering and new revenue streams.

Are you a transport operator who wants to be at the forefront of development? We would be happy to have an informal conversation.
